I would like to say Thank you to The City of Miami Gardens Mayor Rodney Harris Vice Mayor Katrina Wilson-Davis Councilman Reggie Leon Councilwoman Katrina Baskin and Councilman Stephens for the unanimous vote to name a street after our Fraternity "Phi Beta Sigma Way" in the Beautiful City of Miami Gardens, Florida. This is a Historic Day for the Rho Sigma Chapter and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated.
Sidney McCray, is a proud graduate of Florida Memorial College (University) in Saint Augustine, Florida class of 1968.
A Florida native, he relocated to Hartford, Connecticut during his secondary school years and returned to Clewiston, Florida after graduating from Florida Memorial College (University). Не retired from Miami-Dade County; Department of Human Services as a Social Service Administrator after 38 years of service.
He serves as President (CEO) of the Board of Trustee at Memorial Temple Missionary Baptist Church, Inc.
He also served as the Vice - President of the National Alumni Association at Florida Memorial University.
Sidney is a dedicated member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated and has served numerous positions. Those positions include:

Bro. Ray Smith is a proud graduate of Florida Memorial University, Miami, Florida class of 1976. Originally from North Carolina, he relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during his secondary school years, and remained in Miami, Florida after graduating from college. Ray taught school briefly, but retired from UPS as a District Feeder Supervisor after over 37 years of service. He serves on the board of trustees at Florida Memorial University, and chairs the Student Affairs Committee . He is also a past president of the National Alumni Association. Ray is a dedicated member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, and has served in numerous positions.

INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR OF BIGGER & BETTER BUSINESS
Bro. Terrance Gibson was born and raised in Overtown, Florida. He became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated on the campus of Florida Memorial College Fall 1995 through the Beta Pi Chapter, he has been an educator for over 26 years. He has served in various capacities within the field of education from an Elementary Teacher, Behavior Management Teacher, Emotional Behavior Disabilities Counselor, Assistant Principal, and he currently serves as the SCSI Coordinator at North Miami Sr. High School. Outside of his role as an SCSI Coordinator, Mr. Gibson is an active participant in several organizations such as the Florida Memorial Alumni Association North Dade Chapter (Membership Chairperson for the past 5 years), San Salvador Lodge 603, 5000 Role Models Mentor, Phi Beta Sigma Federal Credit Union Board Member and he currently serves as The International Director of Bigger and Better Business for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated in which he oversees 7 Regions across the United States including Hawaii, Tokyo, Japan, Ghana and The Dominican Republic. Mr. Gibson has won several awards throughout his participation in various organizations from Chapter and State Sigma Man of The Year, He is a member of the Outstanding Sigmas of The Southern Region which is the highest honor bestowed upon an individual within the Southern Region, he was inducted into the Florida Sigmas Hall of Fame in January 2024, Southern Region Sigma Cares Award Winner May 2024, Florida Memorial University Nathaniel W Collier Meritorious Service Award recipient which is the highest honor given to a male alumni for their service to the university and the community and he was Rookie Teacher of The Year for Melrose Elementary in 1998. Mr. Gibson is the proud father of 4 children Terrance Jr, Terneka, Ternya and Terreka. Mr. Gibson lives by the words that is placed on the late great Baseball player Jackie Robinson’s Tombstone which reads “A Life is not important unless it has an impact on someone else’s life”
Bro. Shaka Morgan-Rose is a proud graduate from Florida Memorial University the only HBCU in South Florida. Bro. Morgan-Rose was born and raised in Georgetown Guyana moving to Miami Florida in summer of 1983 at the age of 8 years old. Bro. Morgan-Rose became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity in the spring of 1997 and continues to serve his fraternity. Bro. Morgan-Rose is currently a teacher for Miami Dade County Public School and has been teaching and coaching for 17 years. During his free time he runs his small seafood business Fresh Conch Salad 242. As a member of Phi Beta Sigma, Bro. Morgan-Rose has served in various positions and received various awards.
